𝟭. Where are you from and what are your hobbies?

Originally from Amarillo, TX. Currently living in Dumfries, VA. Music really is my main hobby. I also mess around with making and modifying guitar pedals.

𝟮. How did your get into music?

Ive always loved music from as far back as I can remember. In 6th grade I joined my school band, and got a beginner acoustic guitar that Christmas.

I started like most people probably did back then, learned how to read tabs, and then printout out 100s of pages of song tabs to learn. I'm sure my parents hated me burning through all those ink cartridges, but I'd like to think it was worth it.

𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?

On guitar I draw a ton of influence from some of the classic players. I'd say David Gilmour and Mark Knoffler are probably the biggest. As far as style, I take a lot from bands like Manchester Orchestra and Thrice, as well as artists like Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. So a pretty wide array I guess.

4. What are your goals in the music industry?

Number one is to make sure I always enjoy what I'm doing. If at any point I stop liking it, it's gone too far. Beyond that, I just want to work to creat music that I enjoy, and try to get it out so that others might enjoy it as well.

5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?

Hard to say. I'd love to say some big arena like the Royal Albert Hall or something like that, but I don't think I'm ready for something like that. Thinking about the logistics gives me a bit of anxiety more than anything haha.

Realistically I enjoy smaller, more intimate venues.

6. What is your all-time favorite song?

Ugh. That's almost like asking to choose a favorite child haha. I love so many songs for many different reasons. Right now I'd say "I Know the End" by Phoebe Bridgers is up there.

7. Most embarrassing moment?

I think I've probably blocked most of them out haha, but one I can remember is playing this tiny show with some friends at a little local art show, mostly older people around. But it was a really small building and it was super quiet in there. I was playing an acoustic bass at the time, and was going through a little tube preamp thing.

Any way, pretty early on in the set, a capacitor in the preamp blew, and it made a huge pop that came through the amp like a gunshot, and tons of smoke started pouring out.

It was one of those sets where we were not meant to be the attraction, we were just there to create a mood I guess, but at that moment everyone was gasping and darting eyes over at us. People were coming around corners to see what had happened. It was a mess. Of course that preamp was dead after that, so I couldn't play the bass really after that. So we had to try and carry on the best we could.

Pretty sure there were some upset people that day.

8. Proudest accomplishment?

As a dad, I feel like my proudest moment changes constantly, just watching that kid grow and pick up new things, its amazing to see.

My son is 4, and we have a little kid drum set we got him for Christmas last year. Just the other day, he perked up out of nowhere and said, "hey guys, do you wanna hear a song?"

He goes to his drum set and starts playing the beat to this song "Heavy" by Birdtalker. He loves that song, and I guess at that moment he just realized that he could probably play it, so he did! And I mean, it was pretty dead on.

That's my new proudest moment.

9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?

I'm a sucker for reaction videos on YouTube. You know, the ones where people pretend like they've never heard a song that just about everyone in the world has heard, and then they pretend like its the best thing they've ever heard.

Yea, I know. I hate the idea of that, but for whatever reason I get so sucked in. Maybe that should go in the embarrassing category haha.

𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?

I would love to be able to write or play with Andy Hull or Julien Baker. Or both.
