NAS 10 Questions with Joshua Gabriel


This time, we get to know Joshua Gabriel, a South African Pop singer/rapper, Joshua Gabriel, was born and raised in East London, South Africa. He started writing and composing his own songs from 10 years old and released his first singlein March 2020.

With a passion for many genres of music being(Pop, Rnb, Hip-Hop, Rock) etc. The music that he makes is very exciting and can't be pin-pointed to one genre, giving him a diversity in his sound, letting the creativity flow and surely not stopping the creation of good music.

The songs he makes are often lyrical dealing with controversial issues in life, yet also addressing the challenges and successes in life.

1. Tell us a little about where you are from and what you are currently doing.

Hi ,my name Is Joshua Gabriel, I am a 21 year old Singer/Rapper/Songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa and I am currently an I.T student.


2. What inspired you to start playing and making music?

Ever since a young age I would love listening to music, but often did not know which songs I was listening to ,thus I started taking what I remembered from the songs and adding my own lyrics in where I couldn't remember. This inspired me to start writing and composing my very first songs at 8 years old.



𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?

My biggest influences in music are in the Pop/Rnb/Rap Genres they are: Drake, Justin Bieber, Juice wrld, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Andy Mineo, Lecrae, Big Sean, Meek Mill, Rihanna, Brittney Spears and Lady Gaga.


4. What are your goals in the music industry?

My goal in the music industry is to bring music that people can relate to, uplifting them in this world that is so negative, sharing different stories of love, hard times, successes and helping people through life with giving them messages of hope.


5. Tell us about your creative process when you make new music.

When I create new music there are many different ways I go about it. The main way I create a new track is by composing the instrumental using either electronic samples or instruments such as the guitar, keyboard or drumkit.

6. What is your all-time favorite song?

Worst Behavior by Drake. This song was so impactful on me as I was listening to it in a tuff time in my life where I felt everyone was against me. This song just gave me that extra bit of help to get through my days realizing that everyone has haters and people that try stop there success.



7. What is the best advice or council you have either given or received in terms of music?

The best advice I've been given in my life, for my music, is never use the music for yourself, use it to bring joy to others. As that is for music it is also for life to never keep the gifts I have to myself but to share it with others making the world a better place.




8. Proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment was back in 2020 when I released my first Industry Quality song. I released this song at a time when I was told I could never make good music and after this got everyone's respect in my circles and further get attention from Record labels.


9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?

I have been invited to a dinner with famous Producers and record label executives that have worked with my favorite artists Kanye West, Justin Bieber and many more.


𝟭0. Tell us about your highest and lowest points in music so far.

My lowest point in music so far has been when I was unable to record or make music because of my lack of finances.

My Highest points in my music so far was getting recognized by Record labels and big industry professionals and getting different deals coming my way.
