𝟭. Where are you from and what are your hobbies?
Norfolk, United kingdom. Hobby is comedy. I release a full cast audio drama/comedy every fortnight under the banner of Cat Noir comedy Podcast.
𝟮. How did your get into music?
School punk band needed a singer when I was 15 and I had been writing songs since I was around 12. I didn't learn to play any instruments until I was 19. Since then I have learnt to play piano, guitar, bass, drums. I moved into fronting a rock band in 2004 and we had a two album record deal. I ended up hating singing so in 2009 I moved into the genre I had always wanted to be in. Rap. I got signed to Coast to Coast and have opened for Public Enemy, De La soul and Ugly Duckling. I went independent in 2015 so I could spend more time with my family and toured around the UK in Costa Coffee's and performing with poets. I have been self releasing since 2016.
𝟯. Who are your biggest influences?
The Streets.
80's and 90's rap music.
Morrissey.
Nick Cave.
I'm a sucker for well written stories within a song.
4. What are your goals in the music industry?
Kinda been there, so my continuing goal is to make enough money to eat every month and pay the bills, whilst having fun and creating music.
5. If you could choose a location to perform at, what would it be?
Royal albert hall. Even though the Beatles say it's fun of holes it would be a huge gig and it would be amazing to play with an orchestra.
6. What is your all-time favorite song?
Depends on my mood. It could change any minute. Whatever I write here will be changed by the time I press submit. Right now, LL Cool J - mama said knock you out. Just pumping, angry without sounding angry.
7. Most embarrassing moment?
Did a gig near my home town and the stadium flooded during my final song. As water flowed through the stage, everyone shouted to get off and we all climbed to safety on top of some amps. The gig was cancelled.
8. Proudest accomplishment?
My kids without a shadow of a doubt.
Musically; it would have to be teaching for seven years and getting a whole school into hiphop. We even had a all girl group who wanted to be the Wu tang clan. Rapping about pyjamas.
9. What is something about you that might surprise someone who knows you the best?
In 1994 I wrote and sold six songs to an all male strip group called VIP who needed songs to dance to. Versatile In Performance only ever performed them songs twice. I was paid £200.
𝟭𝟬. What is your dream collaboration?
Nick Cave. They say never work with your heroes but Chuck D was lovely, so I am imagining that Nick would be too and he would write such excellent lyrics for us to duet
