“Why Water Rise? I like this name because it has a lot of meaning. – First of all because our planet earth is not in good shape and it’s not going to get any better. I’m worried about the legacy we’ll leave to our children. With all the climate changes we are currently experiencing, it is obvious to me to support this cause. – Then I like the idea of an unstoppable rock band, a bit like water that you can’t stop when it gushes. When I compose, it’s a bit in this state of mind that I find myself, the ideas flow and I can’t stop it.”

This time, we get to know Velvet Blitz, a Filipino-Canadian band that we have seen and heard on NAS for a while now. They participated in the first-ever NASapalooza with their catchy track, Do That Thing, and have been long-term members of the community. It’s great to get to hear a little more from them finally! The band, composed of Mish – Vocal, Nelson – Guitar/Vocal, Dri – Bass/Vocal, and Norm – Drums/Vocal, have a fun sound with hard rocking and punk flavors.
