1. Tell us a little about where you are from and what you are currently doing.

I hail from Osun State, but I grew up in Lagos. Currently, I am focused on making music, gathering fans, and letting the world know about my sound. Gathering fans is a very difficult but unavoidable step in an artist’s journey, and that’s what I am doing currently.

2. What inspired you to start playing and making music?

Everything I went through everything I grew up around and everything came from I faced a lot of challenges growing up and I find it hard to explain to people in words what am going through most of the time so I would write whatever it is bothering in a melodic way that’s how I came to love making music.

𝟯. Who are your biggest musical influences? How would you describe your style or genre?

As funny as it sounds, genres are my biggest influences in music. I came to realize that Afrobeats itself is a fusion of sounds and elements. My style of music is what I would call an Afrocentric alt.

4. What are your goals in the music industry or as an artist?

My goal is letting people get familiar with my sound , gathering a loyal fan base and going global with my craft.

5. Tell us about your creative process when you make new music.

I mostly don’t go to the studio with a premeditated type of vibe I only go with the lyrics and flow of energy I mostly make music in the dead of the night.

6. What is your all-time favorite song by another artist and why?

Pre me by Burna Boy I connect with the lyrics on a very deep level.

7. What is the best advice you have either given or received in terms of music?

The best advice have gotten is to always think things through before making a decision think of the good bad and ugly because every action hast it’s consequences and we all have to be responsible.

8. Proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is being able to drop a song for my people to hear me because it’s not an easy task being able to overcome the obstacles in the way of Spotlight is something am so proud of.

9. Just for fun! What’s been your most embarrassing moment so far?

It was a high school experience I shredded my uniform on the football field during break period and I had to live with it till closing period I was so ashamed I couldn’t go to school the next day lol.

𝟭0. Tell us about your lowest and highest points in music so far.

My lowest points are the hungry days, days that I feel like I got nothing going on, days that I feel like quitting and my highest points are days that I record good jams in the studio

The good: It’s a good song, I think the sounds are very well integrated. The bad: I must say that I don’t listen to the genre much. The ugly: It doesn’t have many plays yet, but that will change soon. Keep working, we’re here at your service.

I enjoyed learning more about Cymera and his approach to making music. I totally relate to his comment about genres. It’s nice to hear that he’s going for his own sound rather than trying to fit into a specific genre 😎
