1. Tell us a little about where you are from and what you are currently doing.

My name is Loktavious! I am from a small town called Frederick, in Colorado, USA. I’m currently building my third project, which will be my self titled album.

2. What inspired you to start playing and making music?

When I was in middle school, I had a friend who truly believed I had a gift with words. (Shoutout to Ray!) Then, after high school I had my friend, DJ GARFI3LD, was going crazy on the decks, doing live shows. I did a few shows myself, which didn’t turn out the way I wanted, so I really thought I wasn’t cut for it. But something snapped in me in 2015, so I doubled down on my presentation as well as the amount I did it and have been hooked on performing ever since.

𝟯. Who are your biggest musical influences? How would you describe your style or genre?

Johnny Cash, System of a Down, Tech N9ne, were huge parts of my musical consumption as I grew up – but I have so many more influences (I wrote a list but deleted it.) that are just as important.

My genre would be conscious Hiphop.

4. What are your goals in the music industry or as an artist?

I’d like a Grammy.

But seriously, just to have music be my full time job.

I also really wanna travel the world, sharing my music as I go.

5. Tell us about your creative process when you make new music.

For some songs I sit and struggle, others just flow naturally while experiencing life. Always good to have your voice memos open.

6. What is your all-time favorite song by another artist and why?

My all time favorite song is Frank Sinatra by Cake. My parents would sing and dance to it when I was really young.

7. What is the best advice you have either given or received in terms of music?

The best advice that I have received, would be “Eyebrows up.” A close second is “Say it with your chest.”

I don’t think I am at the point to give out advice to anyone yet. Haha.

8. Proudest accomplishment?

My first out of state show, was opening for Aaron Carter (May he rock in peace). The venue was packed. The other touring act was Nikki’s Wives. The whole night was so energetic, I’ll never forget the crowd.

9. Just for fun! What’s been your most embarrassing moment so far?

So when I opened for Layzie Bone, (i forget the year at the moment but it was early in my career) I definitely forgot the words to my song so I sang “Mary Had a Little Lamb” for a verse. I thought I was clever.

𝟭0. Tell us about your lowest and highest points in music so far.

My lowest point?

If I’m being honest was my first three years of making music and performing.

I didn’t have a clue what I was doing.

My highest moment, was opening for Tech N9ne.

It was 2018, with the 2,000 person venue sold out people watching on the hills and Rooftops next door.

You opened for Tech N9ne??? That’s my boy. My friend’s son Rittz was signed at Strange Music for a few years and went on his own. They still collab. Keep going, and you can do great things with hard work!

Great to see Loktavious and the crew getting the spotlight they deserve! From singing ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ (lol, 😂love that—I often do stuff like that on stage and strangely no one ever seems to notice) to opening for Tech N9ne, what a journey! Keep those eyebrows up and the beats coming! Shoutout to Nicole Moon and Nikrok for bringing the magic. I really hope you get that Grammy—nothing in this industry is impossible. I love musicians who set what they believe are unachievable goals for themselves because they may well be pleasantly surprised and achieve them.🥂💙♌

I recently got a Letterman Jacket from Varsity Jacket and I couldn’t be happier. The material feels premium, and it fits like it was made just for me. It gives that perfect vintage varsity vibe while still feeling modern. Definitely a must-have if you love timeless fashion.
