Why I Love This NAS Song: “Pleiades 2.0” by Gail Vogel

Gail Vogel’s Artist Page is HERE

This is such a thoughtful, beautiful review—you perfectly captured exactly what makes Pleiades 2.0 so special! That blend of organic and synthetic sounds, the journey from deep waters up to the stars, and that primal pull of the percussion… I felt every bit of that too. It really is so much more than music—it’s a whole experience, and such a joy to hear it described so well by a fellow creator

Definitely enjoyed reading this review!! After listening to “Pleiades 2.0” and reading this, I found myself agreeing with many of its observations. The comparison to “Ghost in the Shell” is very fitting. Overall, the review really puts into words many of the feelings the music itself evokes, well done.

“a refuge of introspection and mental expansion” as soon as I read that – in the translated version – I knew I was going to be intrigued with this song. And so I was!

A wonderful analysis. That “primordial heartbeat” you talk about is precisely what turns a simple listen into a visceral experience. The contrast between acoustic and electronic instruments in Pleiades 2.0 creates a perfect bridge between an ancestral past and a cosmic future. An artwork that requires time, but gives back so much.

First, I’m a sucker for blends that put acoustic guitar inside a wider ambient or electronic space. That mix of something physical and human against something more synthetic always catches my ear.

The review’s idea of the music moving from ocean, to earth, to space helped give shape to what I was hearing. The percussion also gives the piece something to hold onto while the sounds around it open up.

I listened carefully to this track. I found it very delicate, like a solo journey into our inner selves. I don’t know if I’m explaining myself. Acoustic sounds and tribal rhythms blending with spacey atmospheres. Let’s say it’s a wasted track for a spa. I’d use it for an interstellar journey within myself. Beautiful.

It captures the atmosphere and emotions of the music in a way that’s difficult to articulate, but this review does it beautifully. Great read!

Thank you for taking time to write a great review of another artist’s track. I thought you described it very well, with a very clever use of instruments, blending guitar with synth sounds. For me the journey I took whilst listening started in the stars but then transformed after 2 minutes to living alone, eeking out an existence whilst battling against the unrelenting forces of nature.
